The Phoenix Pharmacy and Fountain began as the realization of a decades-old dream borne out of a nearly fifty-year relationship with the city of Knoxville and a desire to serve the people of this great community.

Not long ago, downtown pharmacies, complete with soda counters, served as central gathering spots for locals and visitors alike. They were places where seemingly everyone was welcome and the person behind either counter took the time to know each customer personally. So, the Phoenix is not about resurrecting your grandfather’s neighborhood pharmacy; it is about reintroducing the attitude of it.

Our choice to start with and focus on the pharmacy was purposeful. Like so many of our predecessors, we believe there is no substitute for the neighborhood pharmacist, one who not only has a clinical understanding of patient needs, but also whose vested interest in the community they serve results in an individualized, quality-driven service that promotes excellent patient outcomes. The very same hands-on approach, customer-driven focus, and commitment to excellence is also the driving force behind the soda fountain and its unique culinary creations.

That’s why nearly everything from our super-premium, small-batch ice cream to our peanut butter is hand-made from the freshest possible ingredients by people who care about providing the best possible experience for each guest every time.
